About Klean Hydrogen
About Klean Hydrogen
Klean Hydrogen is the hydrogen arm of Klean Industries, a project developer and turn-key delivery contractor in waste conversion and thermal recovery.
Klean Industries converts end-of-life tires, plastics and municipal solid waste into domestic energy, sustainable commodities and green hydrogen using pyrolysis and gasification. Klean Hydrogen covers the hydrogen side of that work: co-production at the facility, purification to fuel cell grade, on-site refuelling, and the fleet logistics that consume the fuel.
What we do
The group operates as a developer, engineer and integrator rather than a single-technology vendor. Work spans feasibility studies, project development, and turn-key design-build-commission and EPC delivery. That sequence matters: feedstock characterisation and feasibility come first, because hydrogen yield, gas quality and plant economics are decided by the waste stream long before equipment is selected.
Who we work with
Klean Industries is developing a hydrogen-powered supply chain for end-of-life tire collection together with Nikola Corporation, Enapter, H2 Core Systems and Plug Power. Nikola supplies Tre Fuel Cell Electric Class 8 trucks; Enapter and H2 Core Systems contribute hydrogen production and handling technology; Plug Power contributes fuel cell and hydrogen infrastructure capability.
Current programme
All Klean facilities will co-produce green hydrogen with on-site refuelling, linked by a West Coast USA refuelling network. Hydrogen for fuel cell service is produced as hydrogen 5.0 at 99.999% purity. A United Kingdom project covers pyrolysis of mixed wastes with hydrogen extraction, and a United States beef-plant project integrates fuel cells with biogas.
How we engage
Most projects begin with a feasibility study against a specific feedstock and site. Commercial terms, technology selection, capital structure and performance guarantees follow from that work and are discussed directly with hosts, offtakers and fleet operators.
The underlying position has not changed since the company was founded: waste is a misplaced resource, and the way to prove it is to build plants that recover energy, commodities and clean fuel from it at commercial scale. Hydrogen is the newest output category in that portfolio and the one with the clearest line between what a facility produces and how the material reaches it.
